Shows the beautiful historic Vicksburg, MS train depot under water and the US Corp of Engineers temporary wall built in a hurry to protect the Vicksburg water front. In order to build, they had to cut off a section of the railroad that ran through the same spot. Check out the water rushing through as it was cresting today.
View Larger The Muddy Yazoo took over the beautiful historical Train Depot in Vicksburg, MS. They were in process of renovating, but the mighty Mississippi River pushed the Yazoo River and stopped those plans.
View Larger Look closely. This is a section of the railroad they had to cut and stack away back on top of the existing track to build the temporary wall to hold out the Yazoo water. Before, trains traveled through this section of the wall. Amazing.
View Larger A temporary wall built to hold the cresting water back preventing flooding in downtown Vicksburg, MS. Amazing to see. I have driven through this opening so many times before which was so far from any water on the other side. Now the water is cresting at the top of this wall. The mighty Mississippi.

View Larger Had dinner with my wonderful friend Sally this past week at Ralph’s on the Park in New Orleans looking at City Park. A great experience. I had tempura shrimp for an appetizer and then the Fried Chicken which was outstanding. I enjoyed having a good dinner in a quite atmosphere visiting with dear New Orleans friends. The good times.
View Larger Stayed at the James Hotel in Soho NYC last night. Love the hotel. It has a simply, yet classy feel. But one item quite frustrating is in the evening you are not allowed to go to the venue Jimmy on the rooftop of the hotel. Hotel guests are not allowed. One non hotel guy controls access and chooses his friend off the street. Poor planning in my opinion that guests can’t enjoy the rooftop.
View Larger Had a Great dinner at the Mercer Kitchen last night in Soho. Great ambiance. The cheeseburger is my favorite thing on the menu. Highly recommend when traveling and find yourself in NYC
